## Method

This dataset was assembled from public, human-readable guide/wiki pages. I did not call hidden map APIs, bypass login/paywalls, copy map tiles/images/icons, or reuse third-party descriptions. Names, coordinate triplets, depths, distances, resource/biome membership, and POI labels are treated as factual references. All descriptions and route notes in the JSON are rewritten for Subnautica2Maps.

## ToS / copyright risk

- This is not a wholesale clone of any third-party map or database. The JSON keeps attribution and uses a different schema, original descriptions, confidence labels, and index policy.
- Single-source coordinate markers are marked `limited_index` by default. They may render on `/map` with source attribution but should not become standalone SEO pages without more original content/corroboration.
- No images, tiles, screenshots, icon files, CSS, JavaScript, or copied page prose are included.
- If a source owner or rights holder objects, hide the challenged marker/source first, then review.

## Why this is not fake data

Each marker has at least one public source URL plus retrieved_at, source_name, source_confidence, and license_note. Corroborated markers include cross-source support such as wiki biome/resource facts plus Game8/IGN guide facts. Approximate resource markers are explicitly marked as lifepod-relative guidance rather than exact official coordinates.
